Picture Pages: The Holley Mangold Seminar

By April 29, 2014 wod No Comments

This past Saturday was the Olympic weightlifting seminar held by Holley Mangold that I’ve been yammering about for awhile now. While we didn’t have a huge turnout, those who showed had a great time and a lot of personal attention from both Holley and Heather Smith. These two ladies definitely know their shit when it comes to getting tremendous weights above people’s heads and I think we all learned a lot about the way we’ve been lifting and the way we should be lifting. My thanks go out to Holley and Kelley Mangold and Heather Smith for holding this seminar for us, and to Amanda, Gretchen, KC & Yadi for coming out to lift with us. Since Barb and I were busy lifting, we didn’t get a ton of photos, but here’s a few that we do have…

"IIIIII'm like a biiiird, I only fly awaaaayyy..." At least I think there was a musical interlude in there somewhere.

Like most weightlifters, Holley's always willing to show off her rack.

The biggest lesson we all took to heart: weightlifters need to spend a lot of time sitting. Gretchen & KC demonstrate.

After the seminar, Holley gave us a little talk on the mental game of weightlifting: getting out of your head and into the lift.

Like most weekends at CFZ, everything ended over on the couches.

A great crew on-hand, indeed!
