Don’t forget: Thursday there will be no 6:00AM class! All other classes as scheduled starting at 9:00 AM.
For the Christmas Eve WOD on Tuesday, we had a little something new to incorporate: Nerf Guns! This let us work on a couple of new physical skills of fitness to the forefront: coordination and accuracy. Sure, we use them in everything we do, whether double-unders or wall balls or power cleans, but with this WOD, we got to see just how important it is to be accurate and coordinated when you’re shaky from the last round of burpees and have to hit a target to make sure your next round isn’t also burpees. Let’s take a look at some of the carnage.
Here, Anthony demonstrates how the exercise selection process works: one partner shoots for reps, the other for movement.
You can take the boy out of Texas, but even with Nerf guns, he’ll still make sure they’re pointed down range.
Robyne steps up to bat: what movement does her team get to perform?
Katie has the Nerf loading & cocking down…
…but we might need to work on gun safety a little bit.
Justin got to find out how fun a Saturday WOD is (even though it was a Tuesday) as he decides what movement he and Anthony would perform.
Burpees for everybody!
Strategy = Rest Time. Hence the 30 minute timeframe.
Barb ALMOST got the one rep circle. Sine this is neither horseshoes nor hand grenades, her team got 15 reps.
In the background, we see Barb trying the “shooting from the ground” style. How did it work? That depends on how much you like burpees.
All in all, a good time, and a new tool we’ll be seeing pop up occasionally on MOMP days…
